How We Grade
Our Condition Guide
Every piece is inspected across seven areas before listing - exterior, interior, hardware, corners, straps, zipper, and odor. The overall condition grade reflects our honest assessment of the piece as a whole.
Pristine
Items are new or appear unused. No visible signs of wear whatsoever - hardware is flawless, leather is unmarked, interior is spotless. As close to store-bought as vintage gets.
Excellent
New or very gently carried. Minimal signs of handling - you may notice the faintest marks on hardware or a light crease in leather, but nothing that stands out. The piece looks and feels almost new.
Very Good
Minor signs of wear consistent with careful use. Light surface scratches on hardware, slight softening of leather, or faint marks on the interior lining. Still presents beautifully.
Good
Items show moderate signs of wear. Visible scratches on hardware, some corner rubbing, light discolouration, or wear to straps. Fully functional and still a striking piece - just with a story to tell.
Fair
Heavier signs of wear including noticeable scratches, patina, corner wear, or interior marks. The lowest grade we carry - we do not sell anything below this standard. Still authenticated, still genuine, still worth carrying.
We do not sell items below Fair. If a piece does not meet our minimum standard, it does not make it into our edit.
